ICC London ExCeL Choose Audience Systems
Audience Systems is delighted to announce that it will be providing retractable conference seating for London’s first International Convention Centre - ICC London ExCeL.
The £165m expansion, backed by London’s Mayor Boris Johnson and Visit London, represents the first purpose built large scale convention venue in London. It aims to attract more top class events to the city and to play a major part in the regeneration of East London - generating £1.6bn for the London economy by the end of 2011. As such, the new ICC facility is being built to a refined specification. Audience Systems are providing 2000 conference seats on retractable platforms, which can be configured in six different layouts, as well as removable seating.
The chair chosen is the Espace 628CC – an enhanced version of Audience Systems’ classic multipurpose chair. The CC chair has a thick, sprung seat specially designed for the long term seated comfort of conference delegates.
James Mark, Services & 2012 Games Director commented, “The Audience Systems team has worked very hard in partnership with our team throughout the specification process and we are confident that they will deliver a first class product for our delegates that meets all the stringent specifications we have asked for. The ICC London ExCeL is a major addition to the Capital’s event offering and will enable us to be more competitive in the global market and ensure London maintains its positions as a leading events destination.”
ExCeL London is owned by ADNEC, the international venue management company behind venues including the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. The venue in Abu Dhabi boasts an impressive fully automatic seating system, which was custom designed and installed by Audience Systems’ parent company, Kotobuki Corporation.
